It's also pretty great comedic payoff after watching Narek run around Millidonia Palace all episode, dramatically banging open doors without actually accomplishing anything. Literally the only thing he does successfully all episode is the one thing that helps Ani out.

One of my fav things about #damepri_anime is how it finds ways to let the boys do helpful romantic hero-type things while also making it crystal clear that Ani doesn't really NEED them to.

Meanwhile Narek, who'd been rushing to her aid, arrives just in time to dramatically throw open the locked doors.

Ani definitely could have found another way out of that mansion, but Narek makes her life a little easier, & it's nice that he cared about her & wanted to help.

Anyway, #damepri_anime isn't quite the charming Ouran High successor I wanted it to be (and that Episode 8 finale was YIKES), but it's still pretty darn fun and I'm glad to have it on my watch list.
